RESEARCH & INNOVATION
The challenge was to keep the app as compact as possible, still keeping all information of more than 50 government schemes offline. The end user of this app is an adivasi who will not have latest and costly mobile handsets. The end user, adivasi, has a limited mobile connectivity and limited data at limited cost..
We had to develop the app with very basic features. Searching the older style of programming was the innovation in this App.
A brain child of Dr. Madhavi Khode ATC Nagpur, this mobile app is a sincere effort of Adivasi Vikas Vibhag, Nagpur to connect all adivasi people DIGITALLY. With this app, the tribal department, Nagpur is now able to give full information of more than 50 different schemes of government in very easy and effective way.
The App provides all data in local language - Marathi. The Adivasi Vikas Vibhag provided full support and made this project possible. Mr. Naringe and Mrs. Makode took lot of efforts in guiding our team headed by Manish Karandikar, Deni Bobade and Nikita Nandanwar.
ACHIEVEMENTS / AWARDS
The App was launched by Hon. Minister Shri Vishnu Savra, Tribal Department, Maharashtra Government on World Tribal Day (9 August 2017). But the biggest award is its download rate. More than 1500 downloads in 45 days itself shows the need and utility of such events.
Apart from the downloads, Adivasi Vikas Vibhag gave us a big platform in form of State Level Launch of the App form Bal Gandarva Natyamandir, Pune. This provided a big boost to young research team of Jigyasa Research Center and professional team of Embedded Creations.
A team of 4 to 6 interns developed different modules of this app. the development process was very time consuming as ATC Nagpur had to convert and restructure the information of all schemes in order to fit in mobile data format. Getting approval form all concerned officials and higher authorities including Mantralaya needed lot of preperations and strong presentations.
Our team of profesionals and young interns successfully completed the task. Students always bring much needed energy and young vision to every project.
