About Authors :

  1. Manish Karandikar: President-Jigyasa Research Center, Nagpur. Director-Embedded Creations, Nagpur Maharashtra
  2. Dr. Abhay Kolte: Prof. & Head, Dept. of Periodontics & Implantology, VSPM Dental College and Research Centre, India

Features:

  • It is seen that there is decrease in the density of jawbone and the bone around the teeth over the years. As a result it creates the occlusal force on teeth.
  • The interdisciplinary concept was developed jointly by Manish Karandikar, Dr. Abhay Kolte, Dr. Tushar Shrirao. The concept got best innovation award in a medical conference held at Mumbai
  • Many efforts have been made over the years to measure occlusal force.
  • There is no such device to check the occlusal force on teeth. Therefore, a mechanical vibrometer is developed and designed by members of JRC.
  • This study was performed on an experimental basis and it is seen that it has clinical applicability. The biological responses and stress distribution can be assessed.
